The 2024 NFL draft is almost here, but before it arrives, it is time for one full first-round mock draft where the computer makes all of the picks.
This time, I used ESPN’s mock draft simulator, and what I like most about this process with the machine making the selections is that, as much as possible anyways, it takes the human element out of the equation.
We all evaluate prospects differently, view athletic traits through different lenses, and won’t all prioritize team needs the same. This experiment takes a lot of that off the table. Now of course, there are still variables involved, but they’re greatly reduced.
Here is how the final 2024 mock draft turned out with the simulator in charge, along with insights about each prospect from ESPN’s Jeff Legwold.
