After addressing edge rusher in the first round by selecting UCLA’s Laiatu Latu, the Colts turned to the receiver position in the second round by selecting Adonai Mitchell from Texas at 52nd overall.
Before selecting Mitchell, the Colts would first trade down from pick 46 in a deal with the Carolina Panthers that netted them picks 142 and 155 in the fifth round. Receiver was arguably the Colts biggest need entering the draft, with more playmaking around Anthony Richardson a must.
