Jonathan Taylor entered the season on the PUP list, meaning that he was ineligible to appear in the first four games of the season. With Week 5 underway in the NFL, many believe that this could be the first action Taylor sees al season.
His head coach doesn’t quire share the same opinion.
Shane Steichen was asked if Taylor would play on Sunday when the Colts take on the Tennessee Titans.
His answer? “We’ll see.”

The vague answer could be a an attempt to not give the Titans an edge on Sunday. Surprising a team with a healthy Jonathan Taylor could be what the Colts need to do to take Tennessee by surprise.
On the other hand, keeping Taylor out despite his health improving could be another used in what’s been a contentious offseason in Indianapolis. Taylor didn’t receive the new contract that he wanted in free agency.
Taylor is one season removed from a career year in 2021, leading the league in rushing with just over 1,800 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground.
Taylor suffered injuries last season that limited him to only 11 games, but he’s looking to return in 2023 healthier, more focused and better than ever.
If he plays on Sunday, it could be a huge help to rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, who will have another weapon on offense.
