Earlier this month, the NFL launched an investigation Indianapolis Colts cornerback and kick returner Isaiah Rodgers for possible violations of the league’s gambling policy.
Now, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Rodgers and a “handful” of other NFL players are expected to receive season-long suspensions for alleged gambling.

“I know I have made mistakes and I am willing to do whatever it takes to repair the situation,” Rodgers wrote in a tweet earlier this month. “The last thing I ever wanted to do was to be a distraction to the Colts organization, my coaches, and my teammates. I’ve let people down that I care about.
“I made an error in judgment and I am going to work hard to make sure that those mistakes are rectified through this process. It’s an honor to play in the NFL and I have never taken that lightly. I am very sorry for all of this.”
Rodgers, a sixth-round draft pick in 2020, is entering the fourth and final season of his rookie contract. He was expected to be a starting cornerback for the Colts this season after the departure of Stephon Gilmore.
Lions wide receiver Quintez Cephus, safety C.J. Moore and Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney have already received season-long gambling suspensions for the 2023 season.
