Report: Cowboys, Raiders Could Engage in Massive Trade Talks

October 12, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

The Las Vegas Raiders once again find themselves in the middle of trade speculation, and the Dallas Cowboys could enter the Maxx Crosby sweepstakes. According to reports, many believe the Cowboys should make a splash in their defensive front ever since they traded away Micah Parsons to Green Bay. Dallas has one of the best offenses in the league, but they can’t say the same thing about this defense that’s slowly running out of gas. There would be no one better than Crosby, who is now receiving trade interest again this 2025 campaign, and Dallas should enter the mix at some point if Jerry Jones wants to make a massive deal.

Earlier this season, Jones said he is open for business when it comes to the extra first-round picks, and it has to be a “special” player. This means that the Cowboys might look into trading for Crosby if it’s right for them, and given that the star defensive playmaker has a chance of slowing down anytime soon, this trade might be what wakes up the organization. It might be sweeter than everyone is expecting, and people may forget and forgive Jones for trading away Parsons if this deal happens, but for now, it is all speculation at this point. Originally selected in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the former Eastern Michigan product became one of the best defensive ends in the league despite the circumstances of enduring several losing seasons in Las Vegas.

However, Crosby has a chance to join a contender this season, and these other teams might be the ones calling for him.

Report: Cowboys, Raiders Could Engage in Maxx Crosby Trade Talks

Other Possible Suitors

San Francisco 49ers

Even though the San Francisco 49ers went through multiple injuries this season, the team is still 4-1 and is controlling their destiny as one of the best rosters in the league. However, the road will only get bumpy as time flies by, so this means it shouldn’t be a surprise if general manager John Lynch wants to pull off a massive trade himself. After losing Nick Bosa, they haven’t found a reliable replacement, even though other defenders like Bryce Huff and Mykel Williams have stepped up to the plate. Despite that, Lynch is teasing that a pass-rush trade could be coming at least before the deadline next month.

A Crosby trade should keep this defense intact and boost their chances of another Super Bowl run despite the ailments of injuries.

Indianapolis Colts

Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts are having an outstanding season this year, where quarterback Daniel Jones is surprising plenty of people across the league. However, defense wins championships, and this means they should look to salvage the defensive unit. Even though they need a cornerback, it won’t matter if you have Crosby on the same team alongside Kwity Paye, DeForest Buckner and Laiatu Latu.

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders are having another productive season despite the slow start. As long as Jayden Daniels avoids the “sophomore slump,” the Commanders should be in good shape to return to the postseason despite the earlier injuries. This doesn’t mean they won’t trade, and they will if they find themselves in danger on defense again, and could call up Crosby to strengthen this roster.
