The Indianapolis Colts are officially open for business. Well, sort of. On Tuesday afternoon, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero announced that veteran running back Marlon Mack is on the trade block.
Mack, who had over 1,000 rushing yards during the 2019 season, has fallen out of the Colts’ running back rotation. With Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines receiving the bulk of the touches out of the backfield, the Colts have decided to find a suitor for Mack.
“The Colts and RB Marlon Mack have agreed to mutually seek a trade, per sources,” Pelissero said. “Mack is fully healthy after last year’s Achilles tear. But Jonathan Taylor as the bell cow and Nyheim Hines recently extended, Mack is hoping for opportunities elsewhere.”

NFL fans have wasted no time predicting potential landing spots for Mack. Judging by recent social media reactions, there are plenty of people who would love to see what he can on the Los Angeles Rams.
I’d love to see Marlon Mack on that Rams offense

If Mack ends up in the right situation, he could be a valuable waiver wire pickup for fantasy football owners.
“Marlon Mack could be a good waiver wire pickup,” Nathan Jahnke of Pro Football Focus said. “Wherever he ends up, he should see more opportunities compared to these first three weeks in Indianapolis.

Of course, there are some concerns about Mack’s health. He suffered a torn Achilles in 2020 and hasn’t had the opportunity yet to show that he can return to his 2019 form.
Curious to see how this Marlon Mack situation plays out.
Remember he’s coming off of Achilles tear & reconstruction. There has yet to be an RB who has been effective after this procedure. Could he be the first?
This could set the expectations for Cam Akers in 2022.

With the trade deadline a little over a month away, the Colts have plenty of time to find the right trade partner.
Where do you think Marlon Mack will end up?
