NFL Fans Saddened By Death Of 41-Year-Old Super Bowl Champion

It was announced this Wednesday that former NFL offensive lineman Matt Ulrich has passed away. He was 41 years old. 

Ulrich entered the NFL in 2005 as an undrafted player out of Northwestern. He was part of the roster that won a Super Bowl during the 2006 season. 

Details regarding the cause of Ulrich’s death have not been released at this time.

Colts owner Jim Irsay released a heartfelt statement on Ulrich’s death. 

“I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Matt Ulrich. Matt was with us only two seasons, but left his mark on many. Great guy, I hear he was a great dad—and he was a Super Bowl champ. My prayers to his family,” Irsay said.

“This is just shocking, and so sad. RIP Matt,” one person wrote.

After retiring from the NFL, Ulrich started a fitness company. He was loved by many in his community.

Our thoughts are with Ulrich’s family and friends.
