Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. has officially been ruled out with a concussion after taking a scary hit from Steelers DB Damontae Kazee in Saturday’s game.

As Pittman attempted to make a diving catch coming across the left side of the field, the Colts wideout was met with a high velocity shoulder from Kazee that had him down on the field for several minutes after the play.

The confirmation comes from Colts insider Joel A. Erickson of IndyStar:

Kazee was immediately ejected by officials for his hit. Thankfully for Pittman, he was able to walk off the field under his own power with the assistance of the Colts’ medical staff.

The collision was made all the more worse for viewers because it was easy to see coming. Here’s what the play looked like at speed:

Prior to his exit, Pittman had recorded four catches for 78 yards to lead the team. We’ll get more details as he continues to be monitored through the league’s concussion protocol.
