Members of the Colts Who Could Win an Award in 2025

May 27, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

The Indianapolis Colts could have a great 2025 season. If that’s the case, a few team members could be candidates to win an award.

Will Samson Ebukam win Comeback Player of the Year? The Colts defensive end missed the 2024 season due to a torn Achilles.

The NFL has a brand new Protector of the Year award. It will honor the league’s top offensive lineman every year. Can seven-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson win the prize? Here are three Colts who could bring home some hardware in 2025.

Anthony Richardson (Comeback Player of the Year)

The 2022 season was horrible for the Colts. The team finished with a miserable 4-12-1 record. As a result, Indy landed the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. In desperate need of a quarterback, the Colts selected Anthony Richardson.

Richardson would miss all but four games as a rookie due to injury. The Florida native returned to the field last season. Yet, he had another disappointing campaign. Richardson was bitten by the injury bug, was temporarily benched, and had accuracy issues.

In training camp this year, Richardson will compete with Daniel Jones for the Colts’ starting quarterback job. If he wins the job, Richardson could finally have a breakout season and win the Comeback Player of the Year Award. He’ll have to stay healthy and improve his accuracy, though.

Tyler Warren (Rookie of the Year)

The Colts tight end room was nonexistent in 2024. The quartet of Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox, Drew Ogletree, and Will Mallory combined for only 39 catches, 467 yards, and two touchdowns. Granson, who signed with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, led the way with 14 receptions for 182 yards and no touchdowns.

Needless to say, the Colts headed into the offseason, needing a tight end upgrade. The team lucked out big-time by drafting Tyler Warren 14th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Warren is coming off a monster season at Penn State. He caught 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns. For his efforts, he won the John Mackey Award, which is presented annually to college football’s top tight end.

Speaking of awards, Warren could win NFL Rookie of the Year honors. He certainly has what it takes to be an immediate star.

Chris Ballard (Executive of the Year)

There are a lot of Colts fans who aren’t Chris Ballard fans. That’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. Many people were hoping he wouldn’t return for the 2025 season. However, the general manager will get at least another year to get the team back on track.

Ballard has had an amazing offseason this year. He signed quality free agents like Charvarius Ward, Camryn Bynum, Neville Gallimore, and Joe Bachie. Then he drafted guys like Warren, J.T. Tuimoloau, Justin Walley, and DJ Giddens.

The Colts could end their four-year playoff drought if everything works out. Ballard, who’s making the case for a contract extension, could win his first Executive of the Year Award. That would be a great way to redeem himself.
