The 2023 NFL Draft has no doubt made a ton of experienced NFL players across the league expendable. But the Indianapolis Colts apparently didn’t want to wait to send some of their players packing.
Just two days after releasing four players from their roster, the Colts have released five more players on Thursday morning. Defensive end Kameron Cline, tight end Nikola Kalinic, linebacker Forrest Rhyne, defensive tackle Chris Williams, and tight end Jalen Wydermyer have all been released.
Cline was in his third year with the Colts and appeared in three games last year, recording one tackle.
Kalinic was coming off his first NFL season and had one return on special teams.
Rhyne appeared in three games and had one tackle in his first NFL season.
Williams appeared in five games and had two tackles and one QB hit. It was his second NFL season.
Wydermyer did not play in 2022.
We have waived DE Kameron Cline, TE Nikola Kalinic, LB Forrest Rhyne, DT Chris Williams, and TE Jalen Wydermyer.

But the Indianapolis Colts were going to have to make room on their roster somewhere at some point. They had 12 picks in the 2023 NFL Draft and had nine players taken in the final four rounds.
As the Colts enter the Shane Steichen era with a new quarterback in Anthony Richardson, they’re going to be working around the clock to ensure that it starts off strong.
Will any of the players that the Colts cut wind up joining their rivals in 2023?
