Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay always marches to the beat of his own drum. He has a lot of people scratching their heads over a bizarre comment he made about the situation with star running back Jonathan Taylor.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Irsay got a little too existential, saying that if he were to die and Taylor were to leave the NFL, the league would go on. But it’s the way he said it that has fans confused.
“If I die tonight and Jonathan Taylor is out of the league, no one’s gonna miss us. The league goes on. We know that. The National Football (League) rolls on. It doesn’t matter who comes and who goes, and it’s a privilege to be a part of it,” Irsay said, per James Boyd of The Athletic.
Those statements were made mere minutes before Taylor formally requested a trade from the team. Hopefully Irsay didn’t say something similar in his private meeting with Taylor earlier today.

“Nobody, and I mean nobody would miss Jim Irsay,” one user wrote.
“Wait, HUH??” Fox Sports’ Emmanuel Acho replied.
“Jim irsay probably told him he’s lucky to even be making the rookie contract lol,” a third user suggested.
“EXCUSE ME??? Drug test this man immediately,” wrote a fourth.
It’s been a weird day for the Colts.
