Jonathan Taylor doesn’t want to play for the Indianapolis Colts anymore. Colts owner Jim Irsay has no intentions of giving Taylor what he wants.
According to NFL insider Albert Breer, Irsay just sent out a text asserting his position on Taylor’s trade request. Simply put, it’s not happening.
“We’re not trading Jonathan… end of discussion. Not now and not in October!” Irsay reportedly said in a text.
But just because Irsay says that now, it doesn’t mean the situation can’t change based on facts on the ground. Fans have taken to Twitter pointing out that he may not have much choice if Taylor is determined to leave:

“then they’re getting nothing when he leaves next year,” one fan replied.
“So he’s too good to be traded but not good enough to pay?” wrote another.
“So there’s August and September to look forward to,” a third pointed out.
“The collusion against rb pay is clear as f-g day! You can’t play the “rb’s don’t matter and don’t pay them” game but then use the tag to prevent them from hitting free agency or preventing them from being traded to a team that might pay them somebody lying,” one user wrote a lot more forcefully.
It’s now going to be a war of wills between Irsay and Taylor.
