Four Colts named to AP All Pro team

When the Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee gathers to choose whose likeness will be cast in bronze, many factors are considered but possibly no single factor weighs more heavily than first team All Pro selections.

Today four Indianapolis Colts added “First Team All Pro” to their football resume.

Quenton Nelson is considered by many to be the best guard in the NFL and his third first team All Pro selection in just his third professional season will do nothing to change anyone’s mind.

Darius Leonard has come a long way from being called the worst pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, with his second first team All Pro selection. 2019 saw Leonard earn second team honors, hardly a bad season for the athletic linebacker.

DeForest Buckner, like Leonard, earns his first, first team All Pro nomination in a season in which he was snubbed for the Pro Bowl. Also like Leonard, Buckner was a second team All Pro in 2019.

George Odum is someone most Colts fans probably never would have guessed they would have to refer to as “first team All Pro- George Odum”. Despite it seeming incredibly unlikely before the season Odum had a stellar season as a special teams ace and was recognized by the AP for his efforts.

The Indianapolis Colts 2020 campaign continues with the Buffalo Bills tomorrow, win or lose, having four First Team All Pro’s on one team in the same season is something not many franchises can claim. All fanbase controversies aside, finishing 11-5 with four first team All Pro selections, means that this was objectively a great season for the Indianapolis Colts.

One thing all Colts fans will agree on, is the hope that we see all of these players add many more All Pro selections to their football resumes, which will hopefully include many Super Bowl victories on their way to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
