Former NFL offensive lineman Matt Ulrich, who won a Super Bowl in his two professional seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, has died. He was 41.
Colts owner Jim Irsay shared news of Ulrich’s passing on X/Twitter Wednesday.
“I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Matt Ulrich. Matt was with us only two seasons, but left his mark on many. Great guy, I hear he was a great dad—and he was a Super Bowl champ. My prayers to his family,” Irsay wrote.

An undrafted free agent out of Northwestern, where he was a team captain and All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection, Ulrich spent the 2005 and 2006 seasons with Indianapolis, winning a Super Bowl in his second campaign.
Overall, he appeared in 10 regular season games and one postseason game in a reserve role with the Colts.Â
After football, Ulrich cofounded DexaFit LLC, a brand of body fat and metabolic test centers nationwide. He was also a managing director and partner of Profitable Ideas Exchange.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ulrich’s family, friends and former teammates at this time.
