Former Indianapolis Colts and Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck is back in football. Just not in the way that you might expect.
According to Alex Simon of Mercury News, Luck has taken a job at Palo Alto High School in California. The high school is located close to the Stanford campus where Luck used to play college football.
It’s not a full-time gig for the time being. But it could be a sign that Luck might be interested in pursuing a serious coaching job in the years to come.
Luck has long been hailed for his incredible football IQ. He has been seen as coaching material in the past, but pledged to “remove himself from football” when he retired back in 2019.
Andrew Luck retired four years ago, saying he needed to “remove himself from football.”
Now, Luck is back on the field — as a coach at Palo Alto High School, right across the street from his Stanford stomping grounds.

Andrew Luck was the No. 1 overall pick by the Colts in the 2012 NFL Draft. He enjoyed a record-setting rookie season and made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons.
Unfortunately, injuries started to become a serious problem for Luck in his fourth season. He missed more than half of the 2015 season and all of the 2017 season.
Luck came back in 2018 and went 10-6 as a starter, earning Pro Bowl and Comeback Player of the Year honors but retired the following year before the season.
Will this new job be the beginning of a second career in football?
