Jonathan Taylor is going to remain a member of the Indianapolis Colts for at least a little longer.
The Colts were not able to find a trade that they thought was fair value for the star running back so they will be keeping him on the roster. He’s been placed on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) and will be unavailable for the team’s first four games.
No deal: Indianapolis did not find what it felt was a fair-value offer for Jonathan Taylor and it is not trading its All-Pro running back today, league sources tell ESPN.

Teams are still allowed to trade for Taylor even though he’s on the PUP list, but he’ll still have to miss the first four games no matter what.
NFL fans have had a field day with reactions to this news.
“Yeah, you’ll totally get that 1st round pick for him now with him sitting the first month of the season and then shopping him for half a season!” one tweet read.

Never believed the Colts were going to to trade Taylor and certainly weren’t going to get a 1st Round pick. They can always tag him for each of the next two seasons if needed, but first he’s got to prove he can stay healthy https://t.co/P5pOhbvIYD

Not for lack of effort on the Dolphins’ part, but ultimately Miami not willing to meet Indy’s demands https://t.co/RkxC4YOAGR

Dolphins and Colts maintained dialogue but never could agree on something acceptable to both teams https://t.co/cgL0qHtxES

“Colts have to hope that they’re going to find a more desperate team over the first month of the season willing to offer more than what they were being sent now. 13 games of Taylor is less valuable than 17,” another tweet read.

if you’re not gonna trade Jonathan Taylor, why keep him on PUP? Colts are such an unserious organization https://t.co/B9eGBR6h25

I’m extremely confused as to why they would choose not to activate him.
Can anyone provide a compelling reason?
• preserve health till the deadline?
• spite?Truly didn’t see that aspect of this coming at all and I really don’t get their angle. https://t.co/T6G2qhK8tb

It could be a long few months for Colts fans if this situation doesn’t sort itself out.
