The Kareem Hunt sweepstakes have featured a few twists and turns over the past 24 hours.
ESPN’s Dianna Russini first reported that Hunt was expected to sign with the Saints on Tuesday afternoon. Then, a few hours later, Adam Schefter announced that Hunt was heading to Indianapolis to meet with the Colts.
According to Russini, the Colts offered Hunt more money than the Saints. And yet, the former Pro Bowler left Indianapolis this Wednesday without a deal.
“Kareem Hunt is leaving Indianapolis without a deal, per source. Offer was made by the Colts. Unable to reach an agreement.,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. “Continued interest from other teams.”
NFL fans are understandably confused by Wednesday’s update. If the Colts offered Hunt a richer deal, why wouldn’t he sign?
HUH
Maybe just maybe all the teams don’t wanna pay much beyond incentive heavy, easy cut shit and folks need to relax on the FA visits lmao https://t.co/WOSjEIQIHv

“So he left the Saints visit because the Colts offered more money…then couldn’t agree to said deal and is now still looking for a job,” another person wrote.

Hunt had 468 rushing yards, 210 receiving yards and four total touchdowns during the 2022 regular season.
Perhaps a third team will enter the mix and sweep Hunt off his feet with a lucrative offer.
