It’s no secret the Indianapolis Colts will be in the market for a quarterback this offseason. That became very apparent the moment they traded Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders for draft compensation.
So who should the Colts pursue as their next quarterback? Multiple ESPN analysts believe the team should make a run at Minnesota Vikings signal-caller Kirk Cousins.
During this Friday’s episode of Get Up, Chris Canty, Kimberley A. Martin and Damien Woody all shared their thoughts on Cousins potentially landing on the Colts.
Woody believes the Colts would be an interesting team to watch with Cousins under center.
“They would be interesting because they have such a good roster on both sides of the football,” Woody said.
Martin pointed out that Indianapolis already whiffed on the Wentz trade. The team can’t afford to make another mistake at the quarterback position.
Could Kirk Cousins really be the answer for the Indianapolis Colts at QB? @ChrisCanty99, @ByKimberleyA and @damienwoody all think … maybe 🤔 pic.twitter.com/EbCpkMB2lh

Canty, meanwhile, thinks this hypothetical trade would make a lot sense for the Vikings – especially if they don’t want to sign Cousins to an extension.
“Teams typically don’t let quarterbacks go into the season as a lame duck. And if they’re not going to extend him, which they don’t seem like they’re positioned to do, then potentially looking at what you can get for Kirk Cousins from the Indianapolis Colts – a team that’s desperate for a quarterback – makes all the sense in the world,” Canty said.
