Happy training camp eve.
The Indianapolis Colts are set to kick off another training camp from Grand Park in Westfield. Camp begins on Wednesday, July 23rd and runs through August 14th. Training camp is always a fun time in the NFL world. It means the regular season is approaching, news and storylines become more plentiful, and fans get a front row seat to the action. No other time presents such an opportunity for fans to experience the NFL. Although there are some primetime practices that come at a price, there are plenty of free chances to take the family to witness Colts football up close and personal.
There are a few things to know as you plan your visit to Grand Park.
Tickets are limited to six per day regardless if you are planning to go to one of the six free practices or one of the seven primetime ones. The free tickets are scheduled for the early morning hours with the exception of Monday, August the 11th. That one is free but runs 4-5:40 pm. If you can’t get off work to attend one of the early sessions, you will have to pony up the steep price of $5.00 per ticket to attend one of the primetime events. Although times vary, the majority are either on the weekends or during the later evening hours for more fans to attend. You need tickets for all sessions, and parking is $5 if you pay in advance; $10 if you pay day of.
Those are the logistics. The fun awaits when you attend because there is a special energy to Colts camp. There will be football related activities for young and old to test out their skills, a mobile museum/travel experience, Colts Pro-Shop, and other interactive displays. There are plenty of theme days as well which will include special aspects, and the entire camp is capped off by a joint practice with the Green Bay Packers. Of course, there will be plenty of opportunities to see players up close, interact, and obtain autographs. That is what makes Colts training camp a unique and wonderful experience.
The time is upon us. Colts training camp kicks off Wednesday, and fans will start to see how things shake out regarding the quarterback competition, Latu’s development, Warren’s ability on field, and so much more. If you can’t make it to game day, there is no better way to experience Colts football at a fraction of the price. It is an oasis in the desert of the football-less landscape we have all suffered through. Yes, training camp is almost here. The players and coaches will be there. Will you?
