The NFL draft is here, so that means it is time for one final seven-round mock draft for the Indianapolis Colts, using PFF’s mock draft simulator.
Although there are rumors swirling currently that the Colts are looking to trade up, I decided beforehand that I wanted to stay put at pick 15. However, the draft board had different ideas in mind.
By the time the Colts were picking, Terrion Arnold, Quinyon Mitchell, Brian Thomas Jr., and Brock Bowers were all off the board. So, I thought it was best to trade down–a realistic option for the Colts during the actual draft.
“I just go off history,” said GM Chris Ballard about trading down during his pre-draft press conference. “The more picks you have the better chance you have to hit. Now, of course, you’re not going to hit on all of them, but it gives you a better chance to hit.”
I ended up moving back to pick 24 with Dallas. Using the Rich Hill trade value chart, I traded picks 15 and 191 to the Cowboys for picks 24 and 56 in return, giving me two second-round picks and four in the top 100.
Here is a look at each of those picks, along with a breakdown of what you need to know.
