INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts’ latest international experience comes on Nov. 9 against the Atlanta Falcons in a history-making event in Berlin, Germany.
Kickoff is set for 9:30 a.m. ET.
The game marks the NFL’s first regular-season game in Berlin and Olympic Stadium, which hosted five preseason games in the 1990s as part of the league’s American Bowl series.
The Colts are back on the international scene for the third time in the regular season and sixth time overall. Their previous regular season games were in 2023 against New England in Frankfurt, Germany (a 10-6 win) and in ’16 against Jacksonville in London (a 30-27 loss).
They’ve also played preseason games in Toronto in 2010 (a 34-21 loss to Buffalo), Tokyo in ’05 (a 27-21 loss to the Falcons) and Mexico City in 2000 (a 24-23 win over Pittsburgh).
Despite the logistical issues involved with traveling overseas, the game offers the Colts significant exposure and marketing opportunities.
In March, the team expanded its marketing reach to Switzerland as part of the NFL’s Global Markets Program. In 2024, the Colts were granted rights to promote their brand in Germany and Austria.
In a release announcing the Switzerland expansion, owner Jim Irsay pointed to the opportunity “to extend Colts Nation overseas and engage with the fans, businesses and people . . . this will be another excellent opportunity for the Colts and the NFL to welcome new fans and grow our game in the heart of Europe.’’
On the field, the Colts must capitalize on their “home game” with the Falcons in an attempt at ending a four-year playoff drought.
They’ve dominated the series with Atlanta, running up a 15-3 edge dating back to 1966. The Falcons won the most recent meeting in 2023, and the 29-10 loss in Atlanta in Week 16 proved to be a major misstep in Indy’s failed late-season playoff push.
The remainder of the 2025 schedule will be announced on Wednesday.
