Anthony Richardson’s indefinite shoulder injury has left the Indianapolis Colts searching for depth at the quarterback position and on Tuesday they found it.
Per the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the team is signing former third-round pick Kellen Mond to the practice squad after working out several options.

Mond began his career in Minnesota where he backed up Kirk Cousins and appeared in one game that saw him complete 2-of-3 pass attempts for five yards. He was later waived after his rookie season and picked up by the Cleveland Browns on their practice squad.
Mond played his college ball at Texas A&M under Jimbo Fisher where he threw for over 9,600 yards and 71 touchdowns to 27 interceptions. Coming out of school he was compared to Colin Kaepernick due to his dual-threat physical tools and ability to manage the game.
He’ll serve as an additional depth signing behind Gardner Minshew and Sam Ehlinger.
