Colts Schedule: Analyst Predicts Horrible 2025 Season

May 18, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Colts Schedule

Looking at the Indianapolis Colts’ schedule, how many games will they win in 2025? They could win a lot of games and end their four-year playoff drought. But then again, they could wind up having a disastrous season. Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton believes the Colts will finish with a horrible 4-13 record:

“The Indianapolis Colts have a solid offensive line, an All-Pro running back, and a well-rounded group of receivers. Rookie tight end Tyler Warren has a bright future. Yet the offense isn’t going to reach its full potential because of the team’s quarterback options.

Following an 8-9 campaign, Indianapolis falls further below the .500 mark.

2025 projection: 4-13”

The Colts have too much talent to have a four-win season. But you never know, Moton’s prediction could come true.

Much-Improved Defense

Indy’s defense was far from spectacular in 2024. The unit ranked 29th in yards allowed. They did a great job this off-season, though, improving the defensive side of the football. In free agency, the Colts signed defensive backs Charvarius Ward, Camryn Bynum, and Corey Ballentine.

They also signed linebacker Joe Bachie and defensive tackle Neville Gallimore. Then in the draft, Indianapolis selected defensive end J.T. Tuimoloa, cornerback Justin Wally, defensive tackle Tim Smith, and linebacker Hunter Wohler.

This talented group of newcomers will join forces with quality defenders like DeForest Buckner, Kenny Moore II, and Jaylon Jones. If everything goes right, the Colts’ defense should be a much-improved unit in 2025.

Offensive Playmakers

This off-season, the Colts offensive line took a few hits by losing Ryan Kelly and Will Fries. Both starters signed with the Minnesota Vikings. Yet, the offensive line should still be okay. Kelly and Fries’ replacements, Tanor Bortolini and Matt Goncalves could step up and do a fine job.

Indianapolis still has Jonathan Taylor, one of the league’s best running backs. Plus, the team possesses a solid wide receiver core. The group consists of Michael Pittman, Jr., Josh, Downs, and Alec Pierce, who is coming off a breakout season. Speaking of breakout seasons, 2024 second-round pick Adonai Mitchell could end up having one as well in 2025. Rookie tight in Tyler Warren could pull a Brock Bowers and put together a phenomenal rookie season in Indy.

Quarterback, of course, is the Colts’ biggest question mark. Who will win the starting job: holdover Anthony Richardson, or newcomer Daniel Jones? Both players were benched last season. Can the winner of the quarterback battle step up and have an outstanding season?

Will the Colts Win More Than Four Games?

The Colts aren’t like the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, or Buffalo Bills. In other words, they’re not expected to be a Super Bowl contender in 2025. However, they could still be a good team that either makes the playoffs or comes close to making the postseason.

Sure, the Colts could win only four games. A lot of injuries and poor play can lead to that. However, expect them to win at least eight. Last year, they won eight games with a bad defense and Richardson and Joe Flacco not playing like elite quarterbacks.
