With their third selection in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected cornerback Jaylin Simpson out of Auburn at 164th overall.
In addition to landing Simpson, the Colts gained a sixth round pick – No. 201 overall – in a trade with Philadelphia, that moved them from pick 155 to pick 164. The Colts would eventaully use that 201st selection on Micah Abraham.
Cornerback was viewed as one of the bigger needs that the Colts had coming into the draft, but the team didn’t address it until late in the fifth round when they took Simpson.
With Colts’ rookie minicamp taking place later this week, let’s get to know Simpson with a closer look at what he can bring to the Indianapolis defense.
