According to Sports Handle’s Matt Rybaltowski a player placed “hundreds of wagers” dating back to last year, including some on the Colts. He reportedly placed bets at the team’s practice facility.
Per ESPN’s Stephen Holder, the Colts confirmed the investigation without adding any further details.
“We are aware of the NFL’s investigation and will have no further comment at this time,” a team official said.

This unnamed Colts player wouldn’t be the first NFL player punished for betting.
In April, the NFL suspended four Detroit Lions players and Washington Commanders defensive lineman Shaka Toney for violating the league’s gambling policies. The NFL is investigating another Lions player, per The Athletic’s Kalyn Kahler.
Calvin Ridley sat out the entire 2022 season after betting on NFL games.
Rybaltowski said the Colts player under investigation is not a star, but “an ardent NFL fan has probably heard of him.”
