The Indianapolis Colts are coming off a disappointing 2024 season, in which the Horseshoe missed the playoffs again for a fourth consecutive season and finished 8-9.
Still, longtime general manager Chris, who appears firmly on the hot seat, has abandoned his normally fiscally prudent ways in free agency and is operating with a newfound sense of urgency—making significant splashes with his revamped secondary.
Specifically, the Colts got to early work in the first wave of free agency, signing both safety Cam Bynum, as well as cornerback Charvarius Ward to shore up what had become a depleted secondary in recent years and needed an infusion of talent under new veteran defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.
The Colts weren’t done there as they added veteran quarterback Daniel Jones to challenge incumbent 3rd-year starter Anthony Richardson for the job, as well as some depth pieces.
Those additions didn’t come without some key subtractions though, as the Colts have so far lost starting right guard Will Fries, defensive lineman Dayo Odeyingbo, and linebacker E.J. Speed to other NFL teams in free agency.
The Colts are currently projected to have around 7.5 wins.
For what it’s worth, ESPN’s Mike Clay also projects them to also hover around 8 wins.
Would you take the over or under?
