The Indianapolis Colts are just two days away from their preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills. Will No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson be taking part in it?
According to Colts insider Kevin Bowen, he will be. Head coach Shane Steichen has announced that Richardson will start for the Colts against the Bills this Saturday with all of the starters playing around a quarter.
Richardson was named the Colts’ starter rather early in training camp. He easily unseated journeyman Gardner Minshew for the job and will likely be the Week 1 starter against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The reviews from training camp have been mixed, but Steichen is going to be learning on the job as well as a first-year head coach.

At the University of Florida, Anthony Richardson didn’t exactly light up opponents in the passing game. But his athleticism was incredible – as was the 4.43 40-yard dash he posted at the NFL Scouting Combine after the season.
The Colts were enamored enough by Richardson’s potential to make him the No. 4 overall pick in the draft despite some experts arguing that he might not even be a first-round prospect.
There might be some growing pains for Richardson given the state of the Colts roster. But if he can put up better numbers than he did at Florida as a rookie, the sky’s the limit for him.
