Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz got the hell beaten out of him in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams. But the worst of it was an ankle injury.
Wentz did not practice for the Colts today. He didn’t participate in the team’s walkthrough either due to the lingering injury. Wentz did not need to wear a boot thanks to reduced swelling over the past few days.
Speaking to the media after practice, Colts head coach Frank Reich said the team is seeing improvement but are monitoring him day by day. However, the team is approaching Sunday’s game against Tennessee Titans as if Wentz will not play.
“Continuing to monitor it day by day,” Reich said. “Feels better than it did yesterday.”
But Reich opened the door a crack that they could alter the game plan if Wentz recovers before the game.
No walkthrough, no practice today for Colts QB Carson Wentz.
The swelling was significant the last two days, so Colts will monitor day by day, Frank Reich says.

Frank Reich says knowing what they know, they have to approach this weekend as if Carson Wentz will NOT be playing, and then alter the game plan if he IS able to go.
But again, he’s not been ruled out. It’s a day to day thing.

Carson Wentz is completing 65.2-percent of in his first year with the Indianapolis Colts. He has 498 passing yards, three touchdowns and just one interception.
Wentz is on pace for a return to form he hasn’t had since Reich was his offensive coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles.
But he’s still taking sacks and punishment at an uncomfortably high rate. He’s been sacked three times already and taken a ton of hits he shouldn’t be.
How many games is Carson Wentz going to miss this year – if any?
