CB Xavier Rhodes has been ruled OUT for Sunday. Rhodes has been dealing with a calf injury that caused him to miss a full week of practice. With Rhodes out Sunday the Colts will likely lean on versatile defensive back TJ Carrie to fill in for Rhodes. Ya-Sin and Moore will start and Carrie will sub in on the outside in nickel packages. Except Isaiah Rodgers and maybe even BoPete Keyes to get some reps too Sunday.
LT Eric Fisher has been ruled OUT for Sunday. Fisher has been working his way back from a torn Achilles he suffered earlier in the year whilst playing for the Kansas City Chiefs. Fisher had increase the rehab this week and has been limited at practice all week but he wasn’t physically ready yet to play on Sunday. Julien Davenport will start at left tackle on Sunday after a very good end to training camp slingshot him up the depth chart.
DE Kemoko Turay has also been ruled OUT for Sunday. Turay picked up a groin injury and was limited on Wednesday but his health declined throughout the week that caused him to miss both Thursday and today’s practice. Turay is a big part of the rotation at defensive end and the pass rush. The Colts will rely on Paye, Lewis, Muhammad, Banogu and Rochell on Sunday.
OL Danny Pinter is listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday. Pinter was limited both Wednesday and Thursday but managed to practice fully today. Pinter will likely be available for Sunday after managing to practice fully today. Pinter is a vital back up along the interior of the offensive line being able to fill in at center and guard in a pinch.
LG Quenton Nelson is listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday. Nelson missed practice Wednesday but practice in a limited fashion Thursday before practicing fully today. Nelson is struggling with a back injury that has flared up this week and caused him to miss practice time. Although Nelson practiced fully today the Colts aren’t ready to declare him available for Sunday just yet. The plan is to see how he responds to today’s full practice tomorrow and go from there. If Nelson can’t play Sunday then back up guard Chris Reed will likely fill in for him.
Wide receiver Parris Campbell, QB Carson Wentz, TE Jack Doyle and LB Darius Leonard all popped up on the injury report this week but all have no game injury designation so will good to go for Sunday. Campbell will be needed to help fill the void with Hilton. Wentz will make his Colts debut after managing to bounce back from a foot injury earlier in training camp. Doyle will get regular veteran rest days each week and is a key contributor on offense. Leonard is the heart and soul of the Colts defense and will be relied upon to slow down Russell Wilson.
