The Indianapolis Colts elevated offensive tackle Jared Veldheer and running back Darius Anderson (COVID-19 replacement) from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Friday.
On the precipice of the wild-card matchup with the Buffalo Bills, Anderson will be replacing running back Jordan Wilkins, who has been on the reserve/COVID-19 list since before the Week 17 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Anderson will serve as depth in the backfield behind starter Jonathan Taylor and change-of-pace back Nyheim Hines.
Meanwhile, the Colts are expected to place Veldheer at left tackle as the starter to replace veteran Anthony Castonzo, who was placed on the injured reserve list last after undergoing season-ending ankle surgery.
Veldheer was solid in his debut for the Colts in the regular-season finale against the Jaguars and showed enough to earn another start protecting the blind side of quarterback Philip Rivers.
The Colts and Bills are set to kick off at 1:05 p.m. ET at Bills Stadium in Orchard Park.
