INDIANAPOLIS – Bobby Boyd’s pursuit of the ultimate NFL destination continues.
The long-time Baltimore Colts standout cornerback is among 34 Seniors candidates for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026.
A second reduction pared the list of candidates from 52 to 34. The next cutdown will determine nine semifinalists and three from that group will be debated by the 50-member Selection Committee (I am a member).
Boyd appeared in 121 games with 115 starts during his nine-year career and remains one the NFL’s premier cornerbacks. His 57 interceptions are one of the more untouchable franchise records – Don Shinnick is second with 37 and Eugene Daniel next with 35 – and are tied-13th in NFL history. Ten of the 12 players with at least 58 interceptions are enshrined in Canton, Ohio.

Boyd had at least seven interceptions five times and led the NFL with nine in 1965.
Wideout Stanley Morgan was with the Colts in 1990, the final season of his 14-year career.
