Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor spent the first four weeks of the NFL season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
On Wednesday, the Colts officially opened Taylor’s 21-day practice window, which starts the process in him being activated from the PUP list. ESPN’s Adam Schefter says Taylor, who had offseason ankle surgery, is now “healthy.”
Of course, this doesn’t end the drama surrounding the Pro Bowl running back, who requested a trade from the Colts during the summer amid a contract dispute.

Taylor needs to suit up at some point to avoid his contract from tolling until 2024. We’ll see whether or not that will be with the Colts or another team.
Teams have until 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Oct. 31 to work out a trade before having to wait until the offseason.
Taylor, a 2020 second-round pick, was limited to only 11 games in 2022 due to injury. He rushed for 861 yards and four touchdowns, one year after leading the NFL in all three major rushing categories with 332 carries, 1,811 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.
