When the Indianapolis Colts take the field for Friday’s practice session, Carson Wentz will not be working out alongside his teammates. The Pro Bowl quarterback is reportedly nursing an injury.
The Colts have listed Wentz as out for Friday’s practice because of a foot injury. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time.
Quenton Nelson, Jack Doyle and T.Y. Hilton are also sitting out of practice, but that’s because Indianapolis head coach Frank Reich is giving them rest days.
While it’s way too early to panic about Wentz’s status, it’s a tad concerning that he’s hurt this early in training camp. Unfortunately, Wentz has dealt with a plethora of injuries over the course of his NFL career. During his time in Philly, he suffered a torn ACL, back injury and concussion.
Colts will give rest days to Quenton Nelson, Jack Doyle and TY Hilton.

Indianapolis should have an update on Wentz’s health in the near future. The team is currently slated to practice on Saturday and then take Sunday off. Perhaps the coaching staff wants to give Wentz the weekend off just to be safe.
Since the Colts won’t have Wentz available for team drills this afternoon, Jacob Eason, Sam Ehlinger and Jalen Morton will receive a few more reps than usual.
Hopefully for Wentz, he’ll return to the field very soon. He needs as much time as possible to get on the same page with his new teammates.
