Carson Wentz Has Explained His Mindset With The Vaccine

Carson Wentz discussed his decision to not get vaccinated following the Colts‘ practice on Thursday.

Wentz mentioned how his decision to not get vaccinated was a “personal decision” for both him and his family. He also requested people respect his decision just like he respects other’s.

“I will say it’s a personal decision for me and my family,” Wentz said. “I respect everyone else’s decision. I just ask that everybody does the same for me. I know that’s not the world we live in. Not everyone can equally view things the same. No one really knows what’s going on in someone else’s household and how things are being handled. It’s a personal decision. That’s just where I’m at on it. With protocols and everything the way they are it’s really, for us, all about understanding them clearly and making sure we are dotting our I’s and crossing our T’s so that we can avoid what happened this week.”

Carson Wentz is not required to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to play this upcoming season. The NFL has not and most likely will not require players to get vaccinated. But it has enforced strict protocols for those who are unvaccinated.

Wentz had to miss about a week of practices because of protocols for unvaccinated players. Despite the fact, he is still opposing the vaccine.

Wentz and the Colts start the 2021 season on Sunday, Sept. 12 against the Seattle Seahawks.
