NEWS: Colts starting free safety Julian Blackmon sustained a torn Achilles in yesterday’s practice, likely ending his season. Big blow to the Indy defense.

Blackmon has been a terror for opposing ball carriers this season, every week he seemed to make multiple big hits and has registered two tackles for loss as well as a forced fumble from the safety position.
Losing Blackmon, as Holder pointed out, will be a massive blow to a Colts defense that has already struggled with injuries to their defensive backfield through the first six weeks of the season. Despite those issues the defense seemed to be trending in the right direction after a rough start to the season and Blackmon’s knack for making plays was no small part of that turnaround. Time will tell how Matt Eberflus and his staff will fill the hole left by his injury.
