With Week 1 almost here, the Colts have made a decision on All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor. Unfortunately, it’s not what fans want to hear.
Since the Colts have not received a “fair-value offer” for Taylor, they’ve decided to keep him. ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news just moments ago.
Schefter added that Taylor is expected to remain on the Physically Unable to Perform list. That means we won’t see Taylor until Week 5 at the earliest.
“No deal: Indianapolis did not find what it felt was a fair-value offer for Jonathan Taylor and it is not trading its All-Pro running back today, league sources tell ESPN,” Schefter reported. “With no trade materializing today, Taylor now is expected to remain on the Physically Unable to Perform List, making him ineligible to play the first four games of the season. Taylor now is expected to miss games vs. the Jaguars, at Houston, at Baltimore and vs. the Rams.”
The Dolphins and Eagles were briefly linked to Taylor earlier this month.

Taylor has been nursing an ankle injury for an extended period of time. It’s unclear when we’ll see him back on the field.
When healthy, Taylor is arguably the best running back in the league. During the 2021 season, the Wisconsin product had 1,811 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.
Hopefully, Taylor returns to the Colts’ starting lineup in Week 5.
