AFC South standings Week 3: Titans out in front

September 21, 2021 by Colts Wire Leave a Comment

With two weeks in the books, the AFC South is still a division that will likely be up for grabs as the season progresses over the next few months. The Indianapolis Colts find themselves in the basement to open the season.

While the Houston Texans took an early lead in the division following their Week 1 upset, the injury to quarterback Tyrod Taylor was enough to keep them from upsetting the Cleveland Browns in a 31-21 loss. Rookie Davis Mills will be starting their next game on Thursday Night Football.

The Tennessee Titans had a wild Week 2 win over the Seattle Seahawks in overtime that included a 15-point comeback in the second half of the game. Derrick Henry showed why he’s the rushing king as he took 35 carries for 182 yards and three touchdowns. The Titans won 33-30 in overtime.

The Jacksonville Jaguars appear to be competing for the No. 1 overall pick again. Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence struggled mightily en route to a 23-13 loss to the Denver Broncos at home. Two weeks in, Urban Meyer is already making his plea for the fans to not give up. Oof.

Meanwhile, the Colts fought hard and nearly pulled off a comeback against the Los Angeles Rams. However, struggles in the red zone and an injury to Carson Wentz resulted in a 27-24 loss.

Here’s how the AFC South standings look entering Week 3:
