Tennessee Titans (1-1)
Score this week: Won 33-30 (OT) @Seahawks
Despite being down by more than double digits twice in the game, the Titans mounted an incredible comeback on the shoulders of their best player, Derrick Henry, who rushed for 182 yards and 3 scores. Julio Jones also showed up big time for his second game in a Titans uniform, racking up 128 yards on eight catches. It seems like the supposedly great Seahawks’ run defense was not that great after all. On the down side for Tennessee, the Titans defense does not look solid at all.
Injury Report
Surely not as much as the Colts, but the Titans are also banged up heading into their first divisional clash. Linebacker Jayon Brown, cornerback Caleb Farley, tackle Taylor Lewan, guard Rodger Saffold, and tight end Anthony Firkser are all questionable for Sunday.
Looking Ahead: Vs. Colts
The Titans will go out against a Colts team that will most likely be without starting quarterback Carson Wentz, and with several other starters banged up. Given how porous the Colts run defense has been, expect a big day from Derrick Henry, and a most likely Titans win on Jacob Eason’s first NFL start.
Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)
Score this week: Lost 13-23 Vs. Broncos
Another rough start for Trevor Lawrence, who, after winning every regular season game in his life, has now lost two in a row to start his NFL career. Kicker Josh Lambo missed two field goals and Lawrence, after having an excellent opening drive, struggled throughout the game in the face of consistent pressure from the Broncos defense. The Jaguars also got some rather questionable PI calls to go for them.
Injury Report
Cornerbacks Tre Herndon and C.J Henderson, wide receiver Laviska Sheanult Jr., defensive end Jordan Smith questionable, tight end James O’Shaughnessy out.
Looking Ahead: Vs. Cardinals
Another tough matchup for the Jaguars, who will go off against a red hot Kyler Murray led Arizona Cardinals and Lawrence will have to deal with the NFL’s hottest defender in Chandler Jones.
Houston Texans (1-1)
Score this Week: Lost 21-31 Vs. Browns
I have to say I am surprised by how well the Texans are playing considering that they not only have the worst overall roster in the NFL, but also a dramatic situation with Deshaun Watson circling around the franchise. They made a playoff team in the Browns work hard to beat them, and made some nice plays while doing so. Tyrod Taylor started the season scorching hot before being forced out of the game with an injury, Brandin Cooks is still as good as always, but their defense is still really suspect.
Injury Report
Nico Collins, Tyrod Taylor placed on injured reserve. After starting off the season playing lights out for such a depleted supporting cast, Tyrod Taylor was forced out of the Browns game because of a harmstring injury and is eligible to return Week 6.
Looking Ahead: Vs. Panthers
The Panthers are 2-0 and have looked good with Sam Darnold at quarterback, with wins against the Jets and the Saints. Without Taylor, the offense will probably get nothing against a stout Panthers’ D, so expect another loss for the Texans this week.
