With the NFL draft just a day away, rumors are beginning to fly, and the Colts are one team whose name continues to pop up in regard to making a move up the draft board for a top cornerback.
So far, we’ve heard NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah say that he’s hearing rumblings that the Colts could be interested in trading up for Quinyon Mitchell. Dan Graziano of ESPN mentioned something similar, saying that the Colts were making calls about potentially trading up for a top cornerback.
“I think it would depend,” said Chris Ballard about trading up during his pre-draft press conference. “There would have to be someone within striking distance we felt was really unique and a difference-maker for us.”
Perhaps this is something or it very well could be nothing. But let’s pretend that this is how the first round unfolds. What would the Colts have to give up in order to make that trade, and how would the rest of the draft unfold?
Using PFF’s mock draft simulator, I put together a mock draft that featured the Colts trading up for Mitchell. Here is how it all unfolded.
