NEW COMMENTING SYSTEM TIPS

For those of you who preferred the old commenting system, we have some tips that should help make the game day thread more enjoyable or more familiar.

  1. If you change the ‘Sort By’ option to “Oldest,” you can read all the comments in chronological order, and the comment box moves to the bottom. If you leave it as “Newest”, the latest comments will appear at the top.
  2. If you’re using a computer, you can move down the comments using C, and move back up using shift-C by clicking once somewhere inside the comments area. This can also be used to ‘Load More’ comments.
  3. Under the ‘My Profile’ tab, you can keep track of replies to your comments.
  4. If you want to auto-show all images/GIFs/Tweets, you can opt into this under My Profile— Preferences

We hope this helps as Vox Media continues to work with Coral to recreate the commenting and community experience we had before the change. We appreciate all of your feedback and your continued support through this transition.

FIRST HALF THOUGHTS

The Indianapolis Colts have done everything right defensively for much of the game. The big turnaround on that side of the ball was again on the final Bills offensive possession of the half. Too many plays allowed along the sidelines and then a brutal encroachment penalty on Kemoko Turay gifted Buffalo with four extra points.

The offensive has done reasonably well in the middle of the field and has been working with great field position but it has failed to put up points when needed. Settling for a field goal early was unfortunate and then the questionable play-calling on the goal-line with a third-and-one and Jonathan Taylor and the Colts’ offensive line in your favor. Calling a pitch, anything moving the ball back when you’re on the one is a huge risk. I’d bet my house that the Colts could have gotten one yard with two attempts on the goal line, just run the ball up the heart and get it done.

If the Colts defense can manage to not allow another drive like the one at the end of the half and the Colts offense can be more efficient, Indianapolis is absolutely in this game. It cannot be a tale of two halves, however. Both sides of the ball need to be efficient. Jonathan Taylor needs to get going a bit more and Frank Reich needs to be ready to get the ball in the hands of his best playmakers.

30 minutes to give it everything and to play disciplined football. The Colts belong on the field against this team, who is good enough to go to or perhaps even win the Super Bowl. Can they get the job done in the second half and get the chance to advance?
