Transfer Portal Analysis: Tight Ends & Fullbacks

This is a FULLBACK FRIENDLY SITE!

The best player on offense during the abysmal 2024 season was the tight end, Max Klare. He is headed to Columbus to play for the national champions. Who can blame the young man for taking that type of opportunity?

Veteran backup Drew Biber is headed north to Minnesota and former “4-Star” (Rankings mean nothing), Tayvion Galloway, is headed to Middle Tennessee.

Aside from losing those players, Purdue does return George Burhenn, who may be the second best player on the 2025 offense, next to Devin Mockobee.

Coach Odom made no qualms about it, he wants to run the ball. He doubled down with those thoughts with the giant humans he snagged from the transfer portal to help his offensive scheme.

Fullback:

Christian Moore – 6-3, 240 Pounds – Grad Transfer from UNLV

Moore was one of the finalists for the top fullback award during the 2024 season at UNLV. Moore spent one season at UNLV after spending four at Kansas State.

He is a winner, and he’s a fullback, so you know he’s a tough ass. Look for Moore to play a large part in the offense this fall, as a true fullback, a nub and at tight end.

Tight Ends:

Christian Earls – 6-8, 290 Pounds – Grad Transfer from UNLV

Basically a 6th offensive lineman, Earls will be vital to the point of attack in the run game. He and Moore should provide plenty of help with getting the edge.

Earls is a massive human, he was injured for a portion of the 2024 season after getting hurt during summer camp. But made it back to play in meaningful games.

Luca Puccinelli – 6-6, 250 Pounds – Redshirt Freshman from Wake Forest

Luca is a bit of a project as he was a late bloomer on the football field. He spent time at a prep school for basketball before realizing his love for football. At 6-6, 250 pounds he has the size you love at tight end and Purdue could have him for four seasons as he is only a redshirt freshman.

He did not log any snaps at Wake Forest during the 2024 season but Wake is a well coached team and he will more than likely be the TE4 this upcoming season.
