Despite a 1-1 week, Purdue climbs.
Fresh off a West coast swing that saw Purdue win their 7th straight game Purdue was riding high heading into a three game home stand. Then, Ohio State found their range from three and Purdue shockingly lost one at home to the Buckeyes. Not to worry though, because Purdue came back angry, and with their legs under them, for a matchup against a Top 25 Michigan team and Purdue was ready. So ready in fact that Purdue blew their doors off. Voters noticed. Despite going 1-1 Purdue was able to rise up in the rankings (thanks to Kentucky falling three spots).

Purdue is out of action until Friday when archenemy IU comes to town in a matchup that should give Purdue a chance to prove that the game against Michigan wasn’t a fluke and that they deserve to have a top 10 ranking.
As for the rest of Purdue’s opponents this season, the AP Poll is littered with them, both previous and future. See here:
#1 Auburn (-) – Defeated Purdue 87-69 on December 21st (neutral site).
#4 Alabama (-) – Purdue defeated the Crimson Tide 87-78 on November 15 at Mackey.
#7 Michigan State (+1) – Purdue heads to Michigan State on February 18th.
#9 Marquette (+1) – Defeated Purdue 76-58 on November 19 at Marquette.
#13 Texas A&M (-) – Defeated Purdue 70-66 on December 14th (neutral site).
#16 Oregon (-1) – Purdue defeated the Ducks 65-58 on January 18th at Oregon.
#17 Wisconsin (+1) – Purdue and Wisconsin will play in Mackey Arena on February 15th.
#18 Illinois (-1) – Purdue finishes the regular season on March 7th at Illinois.
#23 Ole Miss (-7) – Purdue defeated Ole Miss 80-78 on November 28th (neutral site).
Michigan fell out of the rankings after being dominated by Purdue but would place 26th as they received the most votes of the non-ranked teams. Maryland received enough votes to place them 27th. The final Purdue opponent on the list was UCLA who received 1 vote which would place them 41st.
