Purdue landed a commitment from four-star seven-foot center Sinan Huan on Wednesday, ON3’s Joe Tipton first reported. Huan is a current senior at Georgetown Prep (MD) and chose the Boilermakers over Illinois and Ohio State.
Many reporters in the West Lafayette area have compared Huan to former star big man Matt Haarms, who is on the laundry list of skilled centers to wear the black and gold at Purdue.
Having at least one seven-footer on every roster since 2012, Matt Painter’s Boilermakers have prided themselves on dominating around the rim.
Originally from China, Sinan Huan competed for his home nation in the 2025 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Switzerland, where he averaged 11.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game. Over the summer, he played for Team Durant on the Nike EYBL circuit and averaged 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game for his team.
Huan is a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 81 overall prospect in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports.
