Grades for the coaching staff are in.
The results are in for what will likely be the final edition of our Purdue Fans React series (for football at least) for the year. We asked two questions this week both focused more on big picture issues rather than anything looking at one particular game.
As with any profession, we are coming to the end of the year and maybe it’s time for your to receive your evaluation. How did you do this year? Do you deserve a raise? Are you being encouraged to look elsewhere? Are you being let go? All of these are possibilities once those evaluations get turned in. So, how do you, the fans, think that the coaching staff did this season for Purdue? I asked you to grade them on your traditional A-F scale. Here are the results.

Pretty nice little bell curve right there. C with a 56% percent taking up the majority of responses with B and D surrounding them coming in 3rd and 2nd respectively. Then, on the extreme’s no one gave the staff an A (not surprising) and 5% graded them an F. If I’m being honest, I thought more people would grade them an F just based on some of the angry comments I’ve seen on the site and on Twitter. I will say I think that a C is fair and what I chose when I completed the survey.
Next, I asked you all to determine which unit should be the focus in the offseason. Which unit on the football team needs the most help, probably via transfer portal? I know that there are more possibilities than choices listed but I can’t possibly provide you every choice. I did what I could.

No surprise here, the offensive line dominates this with 68% of the vote. There’s no question that the injuries, and now transfer portal departures, have made the offensive line top of mind for all Purdue fans. It makes sense that this was the unit chosen. Coming up in second is the WR position. Again, this is a position that has been decimated by the transfer portal so there should be a lot of available opportunity for new players.
Thanks to everyone for participating in this series. This was a new one for us here at H&R and I really think it went pretty well. We likely will continue this through basketball season so keep an eye out for those.
