The Boilers will open up as a -9.5 point favorite against the Panthers of High Point
The Purdue Boilermakers were selected as a 5th seed in the Midwest Region and will take on the 12th seeded High Point Panthers of the Big South Conference. High Point, the Big South regular season and conference tournament championships, hold a 29-5 overall record and features a top 25 offense according to Kenpom. The Panters are led by senior guard Kezza Giffa who averages 14.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists and was named to the First Team All Big South Team.
The Boilers will play at 12:40pm on Thursday and open up as -9.5 point favorites over the Panthers with an O/U of 153.5. Of the four seeds in the NCAA Tourney, only Texas A&M is favored by less (-7.5) over the Yale Bulldogs. Purdue is also listed at +1200 to win the Midwest Region and make the Final Four while they are +8500 to win the National Title. That would place the Boilers at nineteenth overall in the entire tourney.
