Purdue wins another MTE!

Sorry for the delay on this, had a weekend of family events, a Purdue Bucket Butt Kicking to watch and then of course to see Ryan Walters get fired yesterday.

So, now we are looking back to Friday Night’s Championship Game, where Purdue won 80 to 78 over Ole Miss.

76

The total number of points from Trey Kaufman-Renn, Myles Colvin, Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer scored Friday Night.

Yes, that group of four scored 76 of the 80 total points for the Boilermakers, as Camden Heide had an off night and the bench produced just two points between Caleb Furst, Gicarri Harris and CJ Cox.

A lot of weight will be on the starting five to score the majority of the points every single game, including the big three of TKR, Loyer and Smith.

35

The total number of points, rebounds and assists from star point guard, Braden Smith. On social media he has received the nickname PRAden Smith, dating back to last year for betting purposes, and it still holds true.

Many believed his assist total would go down this season with easy buckets from Zach Edey going away, he is actually averaging one more per game in the more open offense.

He finished the night with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists.

20

The new career high for Myles Colvin. He started the game with a dynamic steal and dunk and ended the game with the go-ahead layup with just .5 seconds left in the game.

Not only can Myles fill it up on offense, he has become Purdue’s most reliable wing defender, look for him to guard the opposing team’s best Guard/Forward.

2

The total number of points from the bench. Most teams in college don’t rely heavily on bench production for points, but Purdue will need a little more than that from Caleb Furst, CJ Cox and Gicarri Harris.

Harris is a capable three-point shooter but has been ice cold, to the point that teams are leaving him open on purpose, he needs to hit a few to get rolling.
