Kymistrii Young Commits to Barry Odom & the Boilers

June 3, 2025 by Hammer And Rails

The Florida wide receiver becomes the 8th commitment in the 2026 class

Purdue grabbed another important piece in what will be Barry Odom’s first full recruiting cycle class in 2026 when wide receiver Kymistrii Young pledged his commitment. The Florida receiver committed to the Boilers over offers from Florida State, Arkansas, Penn State, Miami (FL), Louisville, Minnesota, Pitt, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Michigan State, and Arizona.

Young is a big playmaking wide receiver at 6’2 and 190lbs who is rated as a three star player. He is rated as just outside of the top 700 recruits in the country and just outside of the top 100 wide receivers at 106. In his junior season, he averaged over 25 yards per reception by grabbing 24 catches for 619 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The 2026 class now has right pledges and will likely be heavy in skill positions at Purdue is currently lacking playmaking ability and quality depth at nearly every position. Purdue has pledges from Quarterback Corin Berry, running back Izaiah Wright, tight end ArMari Towns, linebacker Brayden Sweeney, and offensive linemen James Williams, Brock Brownfield, and Rico Schrieber. This places the class 15th in the B1G and 44th in the country according to 247 Sports while On3 places the Boilers 15th as well in the B1G and 48th in the country.
