How to Watch #7 Purdue (17-5, 9-2) at Iowa (13-8, 4-6) & Open Thread

The Boilermakers look to get their 10th conference win.

After a three game homestand Purdue is headed back on the road. This time they are going to the land of caucuses and butter statutes. That’s right, they are headed to Iowa! The Hawkeyes announced some devastating news yesterday with the season ending injury to Owen Freeman. Freeman was Iowa’s leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker. Just an awful thing for that young man and a problem going forward for Iowa. Purdue will certainly look to capitalize on that with Trey Kaufman-Renn seeking to continue his run of stellar play. He’s coming off an impressive offensive performance against IU which saw him hit what was ultimately the game winner, go 10-13 from the floor and 3-3 from the free throw line. Without Iowa’s big man I expect Braden Smith to look to get him the ball early and often.

Who: #7 Purdue (17-5, 9-2) vs. Iowa (13-8, 4-6)

When: Tuesday, February 4, 2025 – 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT

Where: Iowa City, Iowa – Carver-Hawkeye Arena – Capacity – 14,998

Streaming: Peacock (Paul Burmeister, Stephen Bardo

Radio: Purdue Global Radio Network (Rob Blackman, Bobby Riddell)

Yes this one is only available on Peacock so buckle up for that. My one complaint about Peacock’s live sports is that there’s no ability to either record the game or start the game from the beginning. It just seems to be such a basic functionality. Amazon Prime has it for their NFL games, Netflix has it for their live events, but Peacock does not have it.

Also, of note is that should Purdue win and Michigan State lose their late game against UCLA, a real possibility, Purdue fans could wake up with a half game lead in the Big Ten race.

Join us in the open thread to talk about this one and let’s cheer on the Boilermakers to their 10th Big Ten victory.
