Still 14 hours away…
Facing a 1 seed is never easy. Both one seeds advanced to the Elite Eight from last night’s games. Purdue under Matt Painter is 0-6 against 1 seeds with four of those teams going on to win the whole thing. I get it, it’s going to be tough. The team knows it’s going to be tough. The coaching staff knows it’s going to be tough. The fans know it’s going to be tough. But as I’ve said all week, that’s why they play the games. The games aren’t won on a computer by looking at metrics, the higher seed doesn’t simply advance because they have the better seed. It’s called March Madness for a reason. Now, a 4 seed advancing to the Elite Eight isn’t exactly Madness, but for an Elite Eight that currently includes seeds 1, 1, 2, 3 perhaps a 4 seed getting there would be Madness.
