Hammer and Rails Survey Results – A Successful Season?

Plus, a look at the transfer portal losses.

The survey results for the week and as an added bonus we’ve got a look at the national results for who folks think will be the winner of the upcoming national title game. But first, to the Purdue centric questions.

First, the most important question after every season, was it a success? As I said when I posted this one earlier in the week, everyone but one team walks away a loser at the end of the year. That doesn’t mean that everyone else’s season was a failure, or does it? I asked you if you thought this season was a successful one despite no championships and a Sweet 16 appearance.

I was quite impressed that 93% of fans still thought this was a successful season. Especially after reading the comments on our board throughout the year. I guess ending in the Sweet 16 with a buzzer beating loss can change a lot of minds.

Next, a big caveat to this question as it was posted before Camden Heide went into the portal. So there were only three choices with this one. I have a feeling that if the question was presented with Heide the results would be quite a bit different.

Given the three choices that were before you this doesn’t surprise me at all. I think with Heide it might be about 48-48 between those two. But alas, we will never know.

Now, to the National results about the upcoming Final Four and National Championship game.

Duke is the runaway winner here but me personally I’m rooting for Auburn since that’s who I have in my Hammer and Rails bracket group. FanDuel also gives Duke the best odds of winning with a -115 odds. Auburn, my choice as the winner has the lowest odds at +550 but that seems out of whack to me. But perhaps we will see. The Final Four starts this Saturday.

FanDuel has financially compensated SB Nation and H&R for using their odds in this post. Only the National results were included as a result.
